Hello everyone,
I was wondering if someone could provide some input on what is wrong with my sick cardinal tetra. I have a group of cardinals and out of the group, I noticed that one of them lacks the same full red band and has a difficulty swimming. So, I placed him into a separate container with an airstone and took some pictures. He has some dark markings (or see through) and is much skinnier than the rest of his community. None of the other cardinals exhibit the same issues that this one does. They are all have a full red band and cannot see their innards / dark markings like this one.

Any input anyone? I have included a picture that hopefully will help with the diagnosis.

It might have the so called "Neon Tetra Disease." You can look it up on the internet and you will get many results. The disease also applies to cardinal tetras not just neon tetras.

Thanks guys for your input.

NFD was my guess too despite articles stating that cardinals are more resilient to the disease. Unfortunately, there is no known cure. I suppose that I need to euthanize the fish and keep close watch on the others to make sure it doesn't spread.

Poor guy.

Thanks again.
