I've had a clown knife fish for over 3 months and it has hardley grown. He's ok and he's very attive. But last night i noticed two big lumps on his side, which make me wonder if he has an internal paricite, which is also why he isn't growing. What do you think? Other than that he still swims around fine and likes following the baby cichla ocellaris thats in with him.

How long ago did you feed him? I notice that my 5" CK eats so much bloodworms that his sides swell.

It's still there. But i don't think that he gets much food due to the cichlids that are in there.

I hope he gets better soon... perhaps this is not the right set up for him. at this young age.... they need alot of food because they are growing and they are active.. is there any chance u can put him in his own small tank for awhile so you can make sure he is eating ..and also treat the small tank incase he does have a parasite or something going on.. they really need to be eating well to fight off all the stress of illness.. good luck Bruce.. let us know he is doing.

Mine get really bug lumps in the stomach area hours after they eat. it goes away in a day or so though....it's like they get gas......hopefully this is your case.

He's very active and always swimming around, It could be the food he always eats lots and is always waiting at the surface for his next meal. It could be food or gas. I'll try and move him into another tank.
in the earlier post you made i thought he wasn't getting much food.. as long as he is eating good it is a very good sign. and also that he is eagar to eat.. now i know what you mean..the cichlids may be grabbing everything right from under his nose..... moving him to another tank might be good that you can concentrate on him more and feed him a little more and see if he starts growing and if needed you may have to treat the small tank... can u post a pic of him...;)
