Hi everyone!

I have 8 Corydoras sterbai in a 100L tank. I have had them for 8 weeks. No other tank-mates. I am in the UK.

Over the last week three of them have developed a white/grey furry looking covering on some parts of their body .

I think it may be bacterial. Columnaris flexibacter possibly.
All appetites are still voracious and they are active.

Water Params...
  1. Ammonia: 0
  2. Nitrite: 0
  3. Nitrate: 10 mg/L
  4. Temp: 26C
  5. ph: 7.5
  6. Substrate: fine sand
  7. Water Change Schedule: 50% per week.

Please advise me, is it Columnaris flexibacter?
How should I treat? Maracyn?

Thanks!

How long has it been present? Columnaris can kill in days. If they been sick for a while then I'd lean toward fungus.

I'm leaning a bit toward fungus. API general fungus cure should fix it.

Ur tank isn't cycled that doesn't help.

Keep updating the thread for any changes. Good luck.

I have noticed the disease over the last week.
The tank ran for almost three months before the fish went in and I was dosing with Fluval Cycle Biological Enhancer.

I would be treating with a product called "Wormer Plus" which is a UK product. Not sure what you can get in the UK, but I would also try API general cure mixed with food.

I have just used it on my corys and issues.

Anyone else?
Do you think this might be a Fungal or a bacterial issue?

Thanks very much jmf :)

I know this is an old thread but I have a similar issue with one of my Cory Sterbai. I just noticed it today (didn't see anything yesterday). It's very similar looking, in the side.
I've put him in a 2L measuring tub with a measured dose of interpret anti fungus medication.

Just wondering what happened to your Corys?
