hello , i have a problem with 2 of my discus and i really dont know what to do now..... i bought 6 discus 7-8 month ago , they always been very scared of me but they always looking to be healty and everyone was eating well so good . since like 2 month i was very pissed because very time i was tryin to go close to the tank they were hitting the glass hard like they were super afraid of me and they looked a little bit too stupid to remember that they were in a glass box.... well i started to stay VERY CLOSE to the tank at feeding time and i WATCHED THEM CLOSELY since them finished eating erytime i feed them . now they are lot better with me and they are less scared . BUT MY BIG BLUE DISCUS look like he still refuse to eat while im looking at them eating . I RARELY see him eating since 2 month while my others discus are eat alot .... he look now like hes scale are getting darker he usually was blue like my other snakeskin but it just turn darker and darker hes almost purple now...... and the other problem is with my red pigeon he look like he have cloudy eye but only on one side , i wonder if its just cause he smashed the glass of the tank and hes goin to heal by himself or i should start treat this ... THX ALOT FOR READING THIS YOUR MY LAST HOPE :(

Have you treated them for internal parasites? What are your water parameters ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, Ph, hardness and temperature?

no i never gave them any parasite treatment , and my amonia nitrate are 0-5 ,im doin a 30% water change every 3 days . i keep my water temperature at 83.f .... i know its a bit low but ive seen other people running 82 with no problem even heard about a guy studyin on the fact that discus would prefer a colder themperature more like 84 .f then the usual 88... sorry for my bad english im french lol

Increase the water temperature to 30 degrees. Treat the fish with API General Cure (Metronidazole Prazi combination) or Praziquantel (Prazipro or similar product). Keep the water at the warmer setting for two weeks. API General Cure should be the first choice if you can locate it. Both medications shoul be found at Petsmart or your local fish store. This should help them, if you have any other issues please ask. After treatment is complete you can return the temperature back to the normal setting

wow first time i see an american talking to me in french so well hahahaahah...
do you think i should treat all my tank or only the fish in question? i also remember that my other snakeskin discus had a kind of white slimey coat during like 1-2 week but it goes after some water change. do you think all my fish could had parasite?? and do you know if its fine if i use the api general cure without getting the temp to 30 degres because i have around 60 amano shrimp in my tank and they dont support the warmer temperature very well

Treat the main tank, 2 weeks wouln't bother them. It's only 86 degrees. Good luck.
