Hey all,

Over the few months, one of my Electric Yellows started to look very sick. I don't know what it is. But it gills are very red, they can be seen through the gill plate, and it is very very very skinny! It eats well when the tank is fed. What could it be? parasite?

I think the male yellow has been harassing it, but the finage issues have only shown up in the last week, I don't know if it is because it is getting weaker and just can't escape the male anymore or what....

The only other fish in the tank are 2 tin foil barbs, 5-silver dollars, and 1- bala shark. These yellows had been in with my Frontosa up until about three months ago, but the Front's are getting so large I was afraid the yellows would become a midnight snack.

Bala shark may be attacking because they like few other bala sharks with them. The red gills might be high ammonia - ammonia burns. How big is the tank? And what are the water parameters?

Tank is a 90 g with a 38 g sump. Water parameters are in check. All other fish, including the other yellow are healthy and happy.

I am planning adding 3-4 more balas in the near future...
