Sick Female Festae Need Help

came home from my 2 week vacation to find my 150 in horrible condition... My female festae is sick and IDK what it is.... It does not look like a open wound... its really puffy and swollen... I had to take pics outside of water because she hides in her log the whole time she is very stressed please help....

I also came home to a dead male festae.. Who knows how long he has been dead for? One of the filters broke and stopped working so I only 2 filters working... My water quality was horrible I just did a 50% water change im doing another one tomorow... Surprisingly my male midas and gt both grew larger humps idk how that happened though?

really sorry to hear that bro. Google fishpharmacy.com they have great meds for decent prices and will also help diagnose for you.
 
You should have the festae in a hospital tank; just easier to care for. Salt will do the trick most of time.
 
So sorry to hear. Looks like a bite to me. id qt, keep the water clean, salt, good food and wait.....It's pretty amazing what a fish can recover from in a clean stress free environment.

Sounds like a fight. The only thing ciichlids are predictable at is being unpredicatable.
 
salt would work great if this just happened and the wound was fresh, but its red and looks infected to me which will require meds. the saying goes, you can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink;) the website i gave the OP will give him the proper tools and meds to cure this wound and will also be very helpful to him in the future with solving other issues:)
 
just a quick update she seems to be healing... Everyday water changes and salt did the trick... She is more active and does not look too stressed anymore...
