My little frog has got something protruding from the base of his back, he took to hanging around the top of the tank and not eating...

Then he started shedding skin, he looked a little bloated but I don't think it is dropsy to be honest as the protrusion is more than likely causing the problem.. He is pretty floppy and doesn't do a lot of moving around if he can help it...

I have treated him for internal parasites just incase and moved him into a tank of his own to prevent transference...

Anyone got any idea's as i would really like to keep him alive if poss?

If you ask me I think that is nothing more than a birth defect at most. Your frog most be stressed by that deworming you give him wich Im having a hard time understending why? There is no need to deworm ACF because they are all captive bred and farm produced. Just give him some time, make shure you have him in the correct temps ,make some water changes and give him some treats. Mine loved earthworms ,chicken and bloodworms. Good luck:D

looks to be a birth defect

The reason why I treated him was because he became poorly a few days ago, started hanging around the top of the tank and completely stopped eating, after taking advice from someone who is experienced with frogs I decided to try to treat him with an internal medicine.

Turned out to be his tail bone, only appeared a day ago, this was due to loosing so much weight due to not eating it started to protrude.... He was in correct temp and very clean tank as is his partner in crime Paddy but sadly he died tonite after taking what looked like a fit....

Some sort of internal disorder or parasite I think, I will just have to watch my other guy and hope he does not suffer the same fate....
