Sick Geophagus (swelling, fungus?)

My 2.5" red head tapajo seems to have swelling around the anal fin. On his left side there is also some sort of white fungus looking stuff.

40 gallon breeder
(1) 4" flagtail
(5) 2.5" geos
(2) 2" yoyo loaches

weekly 50% water changes
no meds, no salt
temp at 80ish
eheim 2215 canister filter
feeding NLS grow twice a day

Are you cleanning your filter at regular intervals? I would check your water perameters. You could add some aquarium salt to the water, try 2 tablespoons per 5 gallons of water. If you have to use meds Maracyn sould cover it.
 
It could be a true fungal infection (Saprolegnia) if it is an anti-fungal will need to be used, Tetra Parasite Guard is a decent choice. But it would still the salt and Maracyn frist. If you see no improvement the go with the anti-fungal it's alittle harsh on the fish and the syatem so I recomended the other treatment 1st.
