approx 18 inch lung fish in community tank
with 2 knives, jumper, etc
lung fish is a little lathyritic, not as hungry as usual
was head down for a little while
there is a 1 inch white patch
behind his head like a fungal infection
i lifted him up spinkled a small amount of anti fungal
on the area he swam down shaking it off
no real improvement as of yet
did 1/3 water change
any other suggestions
thanks

lung fish do not belong in a comunity tank. he is sick. take him out. make his home in the bath tub if u have to..seriously. wait..first i should ask what species he is, but either way he should be isolated for health reasons right now. i'm not sure on treatments, but when my tropical fish got rashes like that i added some salt, it seemed to help. try some water soluble meds...someone with more experience will know what to use. you might want to consider finding a vet with some experience in this feild.

hopefully i can post them sucessfully
upon close inspection
appears the skin flaked off
can see outline of scales under injury
help is appreciated

His skin is soft...The other fish are parasitically picking his skin for dinner when they are hungery....Put him in his own tank. Their skin is too soft for rocks and small fish....They need isolation and smooth substrate preferably sand. Tell us more. What is the temp of the tank? What kind of heater do you use? How low is your water level?

my lung fish is the agressor
he has taken chunks out of me and the other fish
even eaten loaches and ropefish water temp is 75 deg
tank is half inch from inch and half from top
there are two corner heaters
he hasnt messed with the heater i ever seen
even with him sick the other knives still avoid him
dont think it is the other fish
seriously they give him space
thanks
