Sick or just in the mood for lovin?

My flowerhorn is 6-7" and lives alone, over the past few days has started getting a fair amount of redness on it and last night developed a white tube looking thing coming from it's ass. It looks too big to be a egg tube but IDK. Digging has dramatically increased but otherwise no change in appetite or behavior.

I don't own a camera so this is about as good as I can do.

I have a male jag about 16" away.

Maybe a little plump in the belly but nothing major.

Well today the tube has gone down a bit in size and the redness is no longer there. I didn't feed at all yesterday and the more I look at it there definitely is a belly bulge.
