For the last few days my Oscar have been acting really werid, its mouth is constantly opened. It seems to be breathing heavy and it has not been eating as much as it use to. I have two other oscars in the tank and they are acting normal with a healty appetite. I just did a water change yesterday and my oscar is still behaving oddly. I read that others on the forum have had similar experiences, but haven't read a consensus on what the problem might be. Is it a diease? If so what kinda treatments can I get. Thanks!

First thing I would do is check ammonia and nitrites.

I assume this is probably the weekest or smallest of the three. How big is he?

Everything is normal, He is an 8 in albino, the other healthy ones are a 10 inch tiger oscar and another 8 inch oscar. He never seemed weaker, just as energetic as the others but now he wont even eat.

you say his mouth is constantly open, what do you meen by this? does he have any odd lumps or anything else noticible?

That's just it. His mouth is open and it just wont close. He does seem to have a small lump on the right side of his body, its barely noticible, just a little raise. I talked to some other ppl, and they think he might have swallowed some gravel and can't spit it back out.

sorry your oscar is sick-- what size tank is he in? what are your water parameters?(ammonia level, nitrIte and nitrAte levels?) what is the tank temp? have you maybe added a air pump in to put some extra oxygen in the tank? give us just a little more info and maybe a pic of him would really help us help you better! lol
