Glad to see you posted this over here now. Hope you get some better answers than the ones I gave. To me its a toss up, it could stay like that for months, eventually go in or fall off and he'll be fine. Or what has happened to mine, they die, or get frustrated and rub it off against something, and die. Good luck, done feed too much live.
Don't know what is going to happen, hope he will be ok and someone has some good advice for you..
It's hard to say whether this is a rectum prolapse. You need to isolate that fish. Try using epsom salt dip for that fish.
Any luck with him? If it gets really bad and nothing seems to be working, you could try pushing in inside, assuming it is a prolapse. If it's not a prolapse, gosh...operate?
