I'm not sure of my pleco is sick. He is pooping normal except 2 days ago had this milky clearish white poop about 3 in long. And the next day he had a swollen abdomen. He is acting/ swimming normal. I did 2 wks ago give him a new hiding place and he won't use it during the day. Just stays stuck on the wall next to his drift wood. And noticed the same day my No3 all but disappeared. All other levels are 0 temp 75. I'm almost done cycling a 55 for my clown loaches and pleco to move to. I went to my lfs amd show them and they said bloat. And told me to dose the tank with melifax, today he seems bigger. Is this really bloat or parasites? My qt tank broke so having to do it in his tank sadly. He won't eat veggies , no matter how much I try. Pls advise!

Would dose the tank with kanamycin and prazipro. Add some Epsom salt 1 tbsp we 5g. Hope this clears up.

Ty! I cant get to my lfs till sunday but ill get somw of that.
Ok 2nd ?. I was told at my lfs to remove the carbon from my filter with use of melifax. I did so yesterday. Should I put the carbon back in now and try the salt first? And how often do I add salt and hoe often should I do water changes while doing salt? Normally I do 25% every sunday.

Remove the carbon for now since starting meds.

The Epsom salt is a one time dose. Would do a 50% then add the salt.
