  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hope your vampire pleco pull thru you still have a good chance. hopefully u didnt change to much water.

it´s not low oxygen level. The Nitrite is 0 and nitrate is very low. But I don´t have a test for the ammonia. Can the ammonia be high if the nitrite and nitrate are ok? I have been feeding more then usually the last 3 weeks.

no such thing as changing too much water, I would do a 95% water change to get things reset

yes you can have an ammonia spike, do a very large water change and see if that helps. Could also be the beginning of something bad.

Yes, there is a thing as changing too much. There's alot more behind new water then the temperature shock. There is PH, hardness of the water, ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, and other unknown chemicals in a tank.

IMO, You have to be more careful with a sick fish as they are already weaker then when they are healthy.

I personally would not do more then 60% at one time

He is now in my 60l rummy nose and cherry shrimps tank. And I am treating it with esha 2000 and esha exit.
Now I think it´s an ammonia spike. But I need to buy a test to be sure.
Thanks to you all, for your replies and help.

im glad you are going to get a new kit for ammonia, imo if you test nitrite and nitrate without ammonia you are wasting your time. I agree with the <60% WC. I am all for big water changes, but 95% is a litle extreme. also what do you have on this tank for filtration?

I had a large L-114 (wc) that did that when I put him in the tank. He also started to have sunken stomach and eyes. I removed him and put him in an old established planted tank and gave him NLS for a month then returned him to the main tank and he was fine then. I made sure I kept up on my 50% water changes on the main tank once a week. My LFS was kind enough to let my pseudacanthicas L-114 reside there in thei planted tank for the month.
