Long story short, I have a ray in a friends tank for the time being and over night it developed this...

This tank has had some issues but have not done a water test yet. Can someone I'd the problem till I can get a check done? TIA.

Just from first glance looks like ph burn

I would check that first

we need water params.

if possible water params of your old tank, and water params of the new tank.

Damn, went to the pet store and they were out of test kits. How do you guys lower the PH because I know the additives don't work?

I would guess that the ph would be low actually most likely crashed from a spike

There is no way of knowing if its even the ph without water tests
first thing you need to do is test

PH
ammonia
nitrite
nitrate

Ph being the most likely nitrate being the least likely
