My RTBS has a spot on the side of the body, looks like fungus, a white patch, is eating through the skin. I am treating with Maracyn, any other ideas??

Should I treat with anti-fungal or is this probably bacterial?

The rapidly spreading skin erosion sounds like Saprolengia fungus, here is a picture, malachite green or forma-green is the most effective treatment. Warning, the meds are very hard on scaleless fish like loaches and corys. Bacterial ulcers usually have raised reddish borders and a yellowish exudate.

Thanks for the info. I am treating with fungus clear and maracyn, if I see no improvement in two days I will change to Malachite/Formalin.
