Sick RTG. Please Help

I haven't been on the site in a long time, but now is the time I need it the most. I have a 12" RTG that started showing weird slime looking growths all over his body. Definitely does not look like ick. He was upside down on the bottom of the tank last night. He was still breathing. I filled up my old 125 to quarantine him and hopefully get him better. Tank perameters-
86 deg F
6cups of salt
70ml of MelaFix - melaleuca

The tank he was in was a 300g with a humerosa and retic ray, and two bristle nose plecos. I added the plecos three weeks ago. They may have been carrying something.


Any ideas on how to treat the arowana???!!!

Currently hes in the 125g. Breathing fine,but swimming really awkwardly.

looks like you are doing the right stuff so far.i just hope the tank you put him in was cycled already. otherwise goodluck

The 125 was inactive for about a month but the wet dry filter pads are from the other tank. The water is from a well and he's used to 80% waterchanges bi-weeekly hopefully this will work.

I would go with what you are doing for a couple of days before trying sometthing that is more harsh. After a few days and no improvement look for a good anti fungal

add in med and raise temp., it will do fine!
