Hello,

I cannot remember the last time I had a sick fish. No additions to the tank in 2 years..parameters are the same, w/c schedule is always the same.

All fish look great, bright, eating a ton. Except my 7yr old male severum. He is still active and eating, but has probably 10 very small size white, cotton ballish looking things on both his fins, and a little on his belly. He acts normal besides the 'shakes' occasionally--where he twitches his tail and fins, like he is itchy. So, can anyone help me figure this out? I have a few things in mind, but when it comes to sickness I am very, luckily, inexperienced. Had this fella for his entrie life and would hate for him to be sick..plus I am leaving town in 4 days for 5 days/...thank you

Try doing a large water change 50% or so and dose with Aquarium salt 1 tablspoon pre 5 gallons of water. Keep the water very clean doing every other water chances of about 25% redosing with salt to maintane above levels. In a week he should look better. Keep us posted on resluts if this does not help (it should) we might have to go to meds. This is much less stressful. Remember to keep you water very clean.
