I’ve had my severum for about 3 years now and something’s been going on with her for over a month. I noticed she started lying upside down then she would be sideways at the bottom of the tank. She wouldn’t eat or do anything but stay in her corner. Last night I fed the tank bloodworms and it was the first time she has eaten anything in weeks. Right now she is upside down again in her corner. She live in a 55g aquarium with a red tail catfish, 2 convicts, a ripe fish and an ornate bichir.

Post ur water parameters. Would suggest moving to a qt tank. Reduce the water level to keep the fish upright with decor/plants etc. add some Epsom salt, kanamycin and prazipro. Hope it gets better.

What are your water test results? And...you have a red tail cat in a 55g tank? And what's a ripe fish?

The red tail is only about 4 inches long, I meant rope fish. I had to run to the hospital so I wasn’t able to do any recent tests on the water.

What is your water change schedule and amount of water changed?

Any recent additions or live foods added?

5-10 gallons once a week, usually when I suck the left over food/poop off the bottom. I’ll feed the catfish feeder fish, but that’s maybe every other week, the Severum likes to eat crickets, but I haven’t given her any in about 2-3 months.

You haven't told us what your nitrates are at, but it does sound like they're going to be extremely high with your tiny water changes. First thing to do, if you have good quality water to change with, is ramp up the water changes to about 50%. Probably best to start off with a few days of 25%s before going to 50%s to avoid shocking them.

Yep, I'd work on the water change situation and stop feeding crickets. Nothing wrong with them at all, it's just that you have to be prepared to diagnose and treat for parasites if you feed live foods.
