Sick Texas Cichlid help.

HI All I am new to the sight.. I have a texas cichlid about 10in long and about 8 year's old.. He was swimming around fine 2 day's ago and last night he was not acting right and today he's is laying on his side like he's gasping for air.. He's in a 90 gallon tank with some gourami's and Green terra barb's ( I think that's what the green one's are called ). Yesterday he ate half of one of the green one's ..Not sure if that did anything to him or not. I did a 25 percent water change a week and half ago...and I did one today..
Just wodered if any one had any idea's .. Thank's Brian

could be indigestion from the barb he swallowed . . . I have seen fish get sick (and die) after eating another fish that was maybe a bit more than they could handle

how big are the barbs?

About 2 in long...about an 1 in tall... He usually eat's little shrimp and night crawler's.

He was dead in the tank this morning. R.I.P Buddy.. I am going to get my water tested and do a water change anyway.
