Sounds good, I have no experience with it or even heard of it..
Maybe check your LFS and ask what they have for fungal medicines.
As you stated it could also be a bacterial infection, but it wouldn't be so spread out like that. Maybe there's fungus on the body, and an infection in the eye.
 
I also read that low ph can cause cloudy eye. I checked my ph and it has dropped below 6! I tested my tap water and it is 6. When I first set up my first tank quite a few months ago it was 7. How can I raise the ph gradually? Should I add a bag of coral? I can't imagine such a low ph is good for them. Or should I maybe remove all the driftwood?
 
Hmm. I would suggest buying a PH upper. I don't know any home remedies of raising the PH. Sounds like your rap water could be bad.
