Well, my jardini is doing good, even with the outbreak of ich in my tank "which is being cured ASAP" so far doesnt look like hes been infected, hes eating good, snapped up a feeder, and some krill, and swims around a lot... but sometimes he just lays on the bottom for 5-10 minutes... is this bad? what does it mean? im completely new to aros

Does this seem to happen after you feed him? If so, try cutting back on the amount per feeding and increase the frequency of feeding instead. It's pretty easy to overfeed an arowana...which can lead to swim bladder issues.

Water parameters are in check?

If it's just occasional, and he's still eating and other wise acts like a healthy arowana, I wouldn't worry too much...each fish has their own personality.
