I got to thinking, the cetus sieves and all the other sieves use 316 stainless steel mesh for their screens, me being the cheapskate that i am, started thinking about cheaper alternatives, would fiberglass window screen work? I know it would probably need to be replaced every once in awhile, but its cheap enough to do so, but what i'm wondering is, is it safe? will it leach anything?

NO window screen will not work. The screen holes in sieves must be cut in a very special shape and size.
