i actually snapped a picture of it when i was there. it didn't look that bad, it was definitely stunted, much taller for its length (my roommate had some big aros about the same length but was not nearly as tall). and it only had 1 droop eye. so i offered him $50 for it, but he didn't take my offer. lol

I wouldnot keep a 18inch fish like that in a 60 gal tank. Especially one that swims as much as aro. But he does not look bad and we do not know if is growth is the result of the 60 gal tank since whatever condition he may have is minor at best at this point.
