I ended back up in hospital this past weekend. And had a second surgery to boot. I'm under strict orders to follow ALL instructions given to me.

That includes not lifting anything. Well, I can lift, but since it hurts to even lift something around the 2lbs range, that limits pretty much everything.

No photography for me for a while.

Lisa, sorry to hear about this, Take it easy, listen to the doctors, they went to school for a long time to be able to tell you this stuff, trust them :) :)

Sorry Lisa, that really is too bad. So what is it that's broken on you this time? Hope you get better soon.

Oh dear! I'm so sorry to hear your news Lisa. I hope you can find something constructive and creative to do until you can handle a camera again.

Lisa sorry to hear about the surgery. Is this the disk problems that needed surgery? If so, I remember my pain when the L4 and L5 became herniated. OUCH:-(

I hope you have a speedy recovery.......

Maybe you can have someone put the camera on a tripod (and perhaps an external shutter release) and still take some pics or maybe just use this time to do some reading about photography?

Or just take a break and hang out on APF. ;)

Dang, another one. That sucks, but at least it's now over with for the moment. Hope that you have a speedy recovery and you're getting some rest.

Sounds like its time to lay back and have someone wait on you . My wife could give you some pointers on how to take advantage of such situations . ;)

Lisa

Wishing you a very speedy recovery. I had a couple of ops a couple of years back and was left having to stand or lie on my side for 6 weeks. Very uncomfortable business operations, so my sympathies are with you. I would look at the tripod route as you will find daytime TV loses its appeal very quickly.

Take it easy

cheers

bobby - yes - this is the back surgery. First surgery was 1/17, ended back in hospital on 1/21. MRI showed the L4-5 disc (what remained) had herniated again (the herniation was the size of the surgeons thumb), and my fall also resulted in internal bleeding.

The doctor went in, removed the herniated part, and made more room on the left side also (as it was beginning to push against the sciatic nerve also) to make sure I wasn't in anymore pain. Had the second surgery on monday, so far so good, taking it easy, and whatever else.

Can't bend over, and taking photographs is the last thing on my mind right now. I'm just using this time to set up my website and work on a friend's website also.

I can't sit for long periods of time, so I've pretty much been living in my bedroom since I got out of hospital. Have the two computers, the bed, so I alternate between sitting / standing/ lying/sitting etc etc, since I can't stay in one position too long.

Daytime TV got tiring within a day.
