You hang in there girl. Like Ed said, follow the doctors instructions and ignore folks advice with similar problems.

My MRI showed L4 and L5 with the S1 (sciatic nerve) complications. I couldn't feel the bottom of my foot for a couple months. I started drivng sooner than the doctor reccommended and it was weird. I had to constantly look down and see that my foot was on the brake.:-o

My case, no surgery. Stretching exercises and lots of pain killers (as mentioned before). During the treatment, which lasted about twelve weeks altogether, the little things like going to the bathroom, showering and trying to stand upright for more than a couple minutes were so painful.

I had two relapses that weren't as serious. Popping 16 tabs of 200 mg of iborprofern a day for two weeks seems to get it back in order.

The doc says if I have another relapse like the original, surgery will have to be the next step. He and I are both reluctant to do it though.:-(
