well convincing my girlfriend to get the 90gal was a like pulling teeth at the best of times, and this seems like a very common problem among us on this site.
I am hoping that this can become a comprehensive guide to convincing the wife/husband that that monster tank is a good idea

in my experience the best way to get that new tank into the house is just buy it, my girlfriend was only pissed until she found out that all the bills where payed and I didnt bust into the savings account

another way that works it "giving" them the other tank since telling her that she could pick the fish for the smaller tank, she even asked about the water perams and is willing to stick with the south american fish since our water is naturaly soft and acidic. she now sends me about 30 links a day of pics of the fish she wants and at this rate we will be upgrading that tank again soon

any one else have good ones

my lfs was having a sale on all tanks, thats why i bought mine. i did the same thing then i told her the original price and then said i wouldn't need a larger tank for a few years ;)

I kept a small tank and b****ed incessantly about how small it was.

I got my kids interested, he can't say no to them.

I also buy things when he's not home :naughty:

I think just going and buying the tank and then reassuring them with candy is the best way to do it.

letting her pick the fish for the smaller tank always works. i now have a 30g stocked with fugly platies :nilly: oh well

my new rule: 1/2 carat of diamond for every 500g of water/tanks. how bout that 3 month salary rule now huh?!?!?!?!?!? :) :headbang2

my wife got me into it !!!!!! she loves big tanks and cars with big motor shes awsome couldnt ask for more .!!!!!

If it gets there, and is full of water... how the hell can you carry it back out :D

I begged for a week. Make sure you sig. other/parents understand that the floor can hold the weight(talk constuction talk if you know it, it worked for me, don't dumb it down for them), that no water will get on the antique wood floors:), and that you have money saved so it will not hurt your financial status...
