my 8 inch silver's right eye is starting to look down, now, at the lfs they have baby jars, thinkin bout trading in my silver before it gets the drop eye completely n picking up the jar, FYI a 3 inch silver and 3 inch jar both cost 59.99, what u guys think? had the silver for 7 months

I think it's wrong to trade-in fish just because they're not perfect. It's not his fault he has drop-eye, and it doesn't mean he won't be a wonderful pet for many, many years. Fish are not status symbols. They are living, breathing things, that need care and attention.

Jars can get DE too.

jars get DE too but not as common and most jardinis are aggressive so i think you should keep the silver nothing wrong with DE

IMO drop eye in silvers are extremely common and back here more than 90% of adult silvers i have seen have drop eye (including my one). So i don't really see the point in trading cos they make great pets. however though, i think jars have a much less chance of getting drop eye compared to silvers :)
