Signs of ICH???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i finally decided to clean up the whole tank and filtration to beging a new tank all over. seems the new tank is a new graveyard for my fishes. i lost all the king tiger pleco L-066 (which were the most expensive ones) i joined all the remaining fished with the goldfishes. seemed they are doing better to consider their is no meds in it or any treatment, temp at 76 F. i'll observe them for 1 week and i'll have my total death count on them. :( seems the tank is a bad luck tank :screwy: never happened with my smaller tank when all where their with the goldfish... always did the way i'm doing now. are my fish lonely because the goldfish weren't their? but they were too many in a 30 gallon tank. kinda weird to think that way. :screwy: need to get my new tank blessed by a priest :naughty: thank you for all the help that were given... highly appreciated! :clap

Your welcome, sorry about your loss!!:( And my origional goof up! I hope my brainfart wasn't to blame! i WOULD FEEL REALLY REALLY bad!! Maybe there was just nothing more you could do. Sometimes in our panic, we can make the situation worse. I know you were trying everything you could, so I am sorry to hear about the loss of all of your tigers. :( :( :( Let me know when you finish with the "star-over".

sorry to hear about your problem, i unfortunately have had an unwanted large amount of "experience with ich" its the most frustrating disease! let it be known though, it is probably impossible to irradicate it fully, as it is only the free swimming part of the disease that can be killed. keeping the water temp will help speed up the "hatching process" of the parasite, so you can irradicate them, but i've found that it won't be gone completely. Recently added a gold nugget to our "family" tank, and i noticed ich on one of the serpaes soon after. Before i could do anything all 7 were wiped out, even though it left 15-20 other fish with no troubles. In three outbreaks of ich in this tank over a few years, a couple of gourami's i have in there seem to be immune to it. weird how it can affect some fish and not others at times.

dude i have the same exact problem only fish i have ever had problems with were peacock bass. in my case they either get ich and die or they live more like 66% die and only 33% live. the only one that seems to be recovering is my 1in tem and my 2in Mono. thank god. btw only thing i did since it was a more mild case i just added a wee bit of AQS and rpse tempt to 86 deg. hope that helps you man
