Can anyone recommend me the most silent air pump to run a large sponge filter, 2 breeder boxes and a couple of additional air stones across a couple tanks. All tanks are only 12” deep. My experience with air pumps is zero so I have no idea how powerful a pump I need for the task. I’d like to get away with as small a pump as possible to keep sound to a minimum.

i’m partial to the whispers, believe it or not smaller doesn’t always mean quieter, i have found if a small pump has to work to hard it will
make more noise than a slightly oversized pump, also placing the pump above the water level makes the pump work less and keep quieter, going in a stand would also cut down on noise...

The Whisper pumps are the most quiet. Each foot has a rubber foot that helps isolate the pump from what ever hard surface it is sitting on. I also hang air pumps and that does help too.
