silica sand?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
in the wild rays go across lots of different substrate, big rocks, small rocks, etc... silica is naturally in sand.

I have never had a trouble with any kind of sand, just dont want a sand so light it gets sucked up in filters.

ill take your guy's words then over some random information on the internet.

Pool filter sand is caldle silica sand. If you read the back, its crushed quartz.

I have used the white pool filter sand for years...

Thanks guys. I bought a bag of sand last week and when i got it home see on back of bag it was silica sand. as my rays have been on fine gravel and has been for 5 years . Moving the tank and was gonna change to sand.

Ive use pool filter silica sand for years as well and my rays have never had any issues.
