Last night I made a small acrylic box that would serve as a filter intake for and above tank sump I'm making, and decided to use silicon instead of acrylic cement because I figured that in a low pressure situation it wouldn't matter, and I had the silicon lying around. I picked it up a few minutes ago and it seemed a little wobbly, and I figured it was because it only had 3 sides, but when I test filled it, the silicon came right off. Just thought I'd post this for the people like me who might ignore common knowledge.

On a related note, does anyone know of a good way to "glue" acrylic to concrete?

Im not sure about bonding acrylic to concreted or other structures for that matter, but to bond acrylic to acrylic try looking into, weld on. Its an acitone that melts the acrylic together, but be sure to sand the gluing surface with a very fine sand paper first for a better hold
