Its been three days since I re-siliconed my tank. I'm wanting to fill the tank to make sure its new seal holds.
However, there is a VERY faint smell from the new silicone. I read to wait 24 to 48 hours before adding water but like I said, its been curing for three days.
Should I wait until the smell is completly gone or should I be ok to add water?

I noticed a slight smell 48 hours after I sealed my 75, but being as impatient as I am I filled it up any way and it held just fine.

I'm terribly impatient also.
I'm starting on the stand this weekend and I want to know the tank is holding water...so I'm not doing too many projects at once.

I kinda think that the smell was "rinsed" away when I filld and drained my tank the first few times. On a side note, make sure that you remove ALL of the scrapings from the old silicone. I thought I got them all out of mine until I turned the lights on when I finally got it set up to see 100's of tiny flecks of silicone floating around...

I wouldn't worry about it you'll be ok lots of products emit a by product long after curing process (your smell). If it says 48 hours trust it thats a ton of curing time for silicone you should be ok.

Water is in the tank. No leaks so far.
Keeping my fingers crossed because that wasn't as much fun as I'd thought it'd be.
