silicone peeling off

I was cleaning some algee from the tank and the silicone started to peel. The tank isn't leaking, but I would hate for it to start leaking. Should I add a bead of silicone down the edge?

Usually peeling silicone is the start of something bad...resealing time...however to do it correctly you must have a clean dry tank, strip ALL the old silicone out and reseal...

By strip all the old silicone, are you talking between the glass too? Or just on the corner where it peeled off??

Yeah it is...just remember new silicone will not stick to old silicone

yep thats not good.Id strip out all the silicone and reseal.The cleaner you get the glass the better it will seal.

ACETONE or MEK to clean the glass after you strip out the old silicone...Acetone or Methylethylketone (MEK) leaves little or no residue on the glass, makes for a better bond with the silicone...

OK, it has been 48 hours since I resealed the tank. Time to start filling it.
