I just bought a 240 gallon tank, only problem is the plastic frame on the bottom has come loose. I bought some GE silicone 2, is this a suitable type for this job? Also should i scrape the old silicone off before i apply the new one?

Difference between GE I and GE II
- GE I is stronger and sticks better to glass and used to be sold as aquarium silicone, also does not harm fish
-GE II is not meant for sticking to glass so not as strong(i used it and popped a seam) and some come with bio-seal which is not fish safe
....and yes, scrape off the old silicone, silicone does not bond to dry silicone.
Take your pick. And next time do a little google search, just sayin...
