Is there any difference between ge silicone 1 clear and ge silicone 1 white. Grabbed the wrong tube out of the box and didn't notice until I threw the receipt away. Rookie mistake

Color doesn't matter, just make sure that it's safe for aquarium use. Home improvement silicones often contain fungicides.

Don't use it. You need 100 percent silicone, which is clear or black silicone. Buy the stuff that's made for aquariums too. You can find it online even on amazon.com if I remember correctly. Most silicones sold at home improvement shops have anti-mold inhibitors in the mix.

I bought GE silicone 1 in white once by accident. I had no problems using it on a sump some time ago. I dunno if maybe I was just lucky. It could be different from the clear GE silicone 1.

I've had nothing but positive results with clear GE silicone 1.

GE 1 is good enough for me. I've sealed 6 out of 12 tanks I own, and six sealed tanks are up and running.
From 5 years ago up to summer of 14.
Like anything you have to do your prep work 1st.
