Silicone safe for aquarium use?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Despite common disbelief, yes it's fine...

The Kitchen & Bath version has an ammonia based mold/mildew inhibitor... The 'BioSeal' contained in GE II is completely different...

If you are unsure it is best to error on the side of safety... but if you are unsure (or assuming, or repeating what you read from someone else qwho is assuming) it's best to let someone else answer ;)

If you read the packages GEI is rated to adhere to glass better than GEII...

The only advantages GEII holds is it comes in a variety of colors...

The label on GEI says "not safe for aquiarium use"... This is just a way for them to protect themselves from responsibility when people misuse their product, it is aquarium safe...

That came out a lot more arrogant than I meant for it too... :(
