So I got this used 60 gallon acrylic tank. It needs a little bit of cleaning but nothing major. The only deal is that the trim on the top edge of the tank was removed by the previous owner. I need to re-attach it becuase I will not be able to but a glass top cover on it without the trim.
I'm a newbee hobyist so i have ideas on how to do this but I just want some educated information from you guys.
The top edge of the tank as well as half an inch on the top end from the top down has silicone on it. This is probably the glue that attached the trim to the tank. My question is, how do I remove it? Can is use a regular knife and start scraping it off? What should I use to totally clean the silicone off?
Can I get the regular silicone that I can get at home depot to re-attach the trim? Any specific type of silicone to attach the wood trip to the tank?
Thanks in advance.
