I would use the all-glass aquarium brand. i don't know anything about other brands.

lol, that was quick! thanks! i wasn't sure if there were specific fish tank silicones, or if there were just certain home improvement store type silicones to use. i'll have to look around, i'm sure one of the fish stores around here has it :] thanks!!

Before you buy the GE silicone read the back precautions. I used GE silicone, but NOT the same one in the picture, a few months back to seal a reptile enclosure. it said on the back not for use in aquariums. Im not saying the other guys are wrong, just to use caution. It may last a few years but what about 10 years? at least with the all-glass brand you know it's designed for aquariums. For me, it's worth the extra dough.
I used the all-glass brand to re-seal my 75G after my iguana scratched the crap out of it. It's messy and super sticky before it's cured but so far no problems after 2 years.

I have made many tanks up to 55 gallons using the GE I silicone with no problems several tanks are coming up on 8 years old. I just made one tank for myself that is 100 gallons divided into five 20 gallon sections thats been holding water for a couple of months now, with GE I

I used Dow Corning 795 on my 135 gal. tank in September last year and have had no leaks or problems since. It is only available in black but the downside is it takes 3 weeks to reach full cure. Easy to work with and if it's good enough for a multi-thousand gallon tank used in the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai, it's good enough for me.
