Just a few photos of my newest girls, 4 month old and 5 month old silkies. Had them for about 3 weeks now... My 'real' chicken is rather perplexed with them :P

They are gorgeous, so glad I got them :) White girl tends to draw the crowds, but its the golden girl whos the snuggly one :P
Little Penelope (gold) started laying a few weeks ago-- small eggs but very cool to get them from her :)

They put up with a lot too, very patient and gentle girls hehehe
Little white girl is super goofy and keeps shoving her head into her food and getting messy lol...

I have a few white silkies running around here. Here's a photo of some silkie chicks and ducklings I picked up a few weeks ago. There's a Buff, Partridge, Blue and Black color silkie chick.

Love them!
Are the roosters loud too?

It really depends on the rooster. Some crow more than others. I actually had to get rid of my Silkie rooster last year because he crowed constantly. He was also really mean too and got in fights with my Barred Rock roo who's 4x his size and had 2" long spurs.

We really dig the Silkies, we just got 10 more. My wife has gotten into bantams so much that we have contractors come next week to build a second chicken house and yards so we can keep several flocks separate. You know for no "unauthorized breeding" (Jurasic Park reference). Her interest has surpassed my son who raises chickens for 4H!
