Im going to be trading a tank for another tank (a 240 tall 72 x 24x 32)but the new tank needs to be resealed, can anyone tell me the best type to use, or where to buy it, like does home depot sell it, i know it has to be 100 % pure silicon, and also whats the best way to take off old silicon like any tricks of the trade

thanks

GE I for windows and doors, clear color. stay away from GE II w/ bioseal. as for getting it off, i use a sharp razor blade and some gasoline on a rag to get rid of the residue :)

should find it any any major hardware store

Home Depot sells GE silicone I. I used it to reseal two 20's a 25 and a 90. Worked great and is still holding strong. I don't know if it will work for a tank of that size though. I think GE sells a stronger version of the same stuff, but don't quote me on it.

For getting the old stuff off use a razor blade and buy a pack of 5 spare blades while your there (you'll need em). Also a small pair of needle nose pliers works great for pulling the silicone out of the corners.
