Been looking for one in Singapore and finally found one in a FW shop selling exotic fish.
SGD 58 = USD 50 give or take for an 8 incher.

I have done my research and believe that the eel can survive in fresh/brackish/marine water environments.
Spent a week acclimatising it to saltwater .. .slowly raising salt water levels and monitoring it.
After a week the water is now completely marine, and the eel is eating a little bit when i offer it prawn.

I have 2 groupers, 4 lions and 8 morays in my main tank.
Now the G.Poly is in my one and only quarantine tank.
Usually I would pump FW ghost shrimp with marine food for days before feeding - in the quarantine tank.
So knowing I would need the quarantine tank in a few hours... and plus there are 8 morays in the tank....
I released the G.Poly in.

My Variola Louti Grouper (resident king at also 8 inches) took offence and grabbed the eel by its head shaking it several times against a rock.
I chased the grouper around but he did it to the poor eel 3 to 5 times before the eel found a place to hide.
The G.Poly then survived for the next 2 days hiding in a corner but the grouper kept hovering nearby.
I fed the grouper to the point it looks pregnant - hoping to distract it.

day 3 i can see the G.Poly investigating its surroundings.
Went out for an hour - came home to see eel meat around the tank. Grouper killed it by simply ripping its head off.

Sorry for the long post but its such a silly predatory fish keeper mistake not flooding the tank with feeders.
And having kept groupers for years it is highly unlikely I can keep another G.Poly.
The grouper has locked it in his brain that G.Poly is an enemy and will not hesitate to attack one no matter the size.

Dang...sorry for the loss!

G.Poly can survive in freshwater, brackish and marine.
Just like the other commonly labelled freshwater eel G.tile.
I have a G.Tile in my full marine tank for almost a year.

^ G.Tiles while commonly sold as Freshwater eels, actually cannot live in Full F/W for life like G.Polyuranadon, they need at minimum brackish conditions to actually survive and thrive...
