Can a silver arwoana live safely with a jardini? I have a 8 inch silver and I know of a 6 inch jardini in my area.

MOST of the time NO...But there are exceptions to that.....

their could be a way some how but it kinda depends on what your jardini is like in personality like some are just born to kill everything as aggression goes and some can live being with other fishes by other fishes i mean large fishes that has aggression to holds its grown with the jardini. If you want your silver arowana to go with a jardini arowana from what i experience 2 years ago in my old 240 gallon...my 23" Silver Arowana was with a 19" Jardini and a large 18" Male Managuense,2 25" Red Bellied Pacus. So anything large and hardy fishes can go with them with some exceptions

There have been case where this combo has worked, most of the time it does not go well. If you have the large tanks to seperate them at a moments notice, then you could probably try it. You may also want to read this post on jardini tankmates: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23838

So where are these fish now? This sure sounds of the same stories Oddbark 16 was telling.

My cohab is working out good right now-
A few nips at eachother-But certainly nothing serious enough to remove one or the other...And actually right now the silver is getting the better of my jar....
But once again very minor nips-And have a decent sized tank to cohab with also

What size tank, jardini and silver? How long have they been together? What other tankmates? I know you have some very large tanks and that may be the key to co-hab.

Thanks-
The tank is 6' x 4' x 3'T...
Tank mates are a 10 inch green severum
20 inch marble sailfin pleco
24 inch pacu
7 to 9 inch syndadontis of some sort
6 inch dovii
and a few common pleco's around the 16 inch mark and bigger...

They have only been together now (in my tank ne how) for the better part of around three months-But they both came from a previous owner housed together also-
But I never got to talk to that guy-So unfortunately I dont know how long they have actually lived together-But I know it's alot longer than they have been in my tank...

+1

im doing it right now too. my jar is 12" and my silver is 13". they have been living together for a few months now. they are housed with dats, royal pleco, and fei feng. just get lil nips here and there, nothing serious.
