A very large net, and then place him into a very large rubbermaid tub filled halfway with water, and have a cover on the top..

Drain the tank half, then what he said. Really, why do you need to remove him? The tank shouldn't need to be "cleaned" The glass can be scrubbed without removing him. The only reason to remove him should be transfer to larger tank. Interesting guitar. Never seen that make. Gravel can be cleaned w/ vacuum. Beautiful fish. My wife wants it. She'll have to wait till ours grows.

you can sedate him. I would use a extra large fish bag. And try and get the aro to swim into it.

get a fishing rod hook up some raw jumbo shrimp and fish him out! lol jk

get big bucket and just scoop him out but ya what everyone else said is right theres no need to take him out to clean the tank. plus if you take all the fish out and then drain all the water & etc and clean everything squeky clean you can kill all your BB which means you have recycle your tank bud which = no good lol

ill hold em for you.... cough

Never sedate your fish unless you actually need to. You always run the risk of permanently putting your fish to sleep if you overdose.

If you don't have a magnetic algae scrubber and need to stick your hand in your tank to scrub, then you should remove your aro temporarily. Trying scrubbing your tank with a large aro inside and it'll probably remove itself for you.

Cleaning your tank has nothing to do with your beneficial bacteria as it's all in your filter media. If you don't touch your filter, then you wont have cycle problems.

Better to use a pillow case rather than most nets as barbells and fins get caught in nets and usually break off. Use the pillow case to transfer into a bucket or bag and move it to a large rubbermaid container filled with your current tank water. Toss in an air pump or something depending on how long you scrub your tank. Make sure you close the lid or it'll come flying out.

no way a bucket will work lol. like said before, drain half way and use a big net. personally i like to use clean pillow cases because the aro is less likely to be damaged. but get yourself a magnetic tank scrubber and you should be good to go.

Leave him alone and worry about getting him into a proper sized tank. That little corner tank you've got not is ridiculous and only gets worse by the day.

Sedating the aro is easy and actually very safe. The main reason behind sedating is to keep them calm. Its prolly not the right thing to do in this case if all he wants to do is clean tank. If my asian is getting in a bag for a trip he is getting sedated. They can undo years of hard work by wrecking themselves during transportation. Even still sedated aros rub off a barbel or two during transport.
