So i've had a large aro for abtou three months now, i did not raise him. Recently, the last few weeks specifically, he has becgan viewing my fleshy bits(arms, fingers, hands) as food. I suspect as he watches me release the food from my hand. His teeth aren't huge yet but ive got the equivalent of road rash on several fingers from his most recent attempt. Any ideas on how to break this besides y'old Hand of God method?

mine goesfor my fingers all the time only when hes hungry i only put my hands in the tank after a good feeding

Save for the few hours after feeding he seems to think i am food. I use a transluscent top (old shower doors) so when i'm working above the tank on some of the mangroves i keep he lunges at the lid. I'm concerned not only abotu being attacked in the tank...which would be awesome cause no one dies to an aro, but im also concerned abotu him jumpign again the tank all the time. Btw, feeding him requires nothgin sort of an entire tilapia filet, several large cichlid staple pellets, a few carni sticks and a few color pellets. i've heard of aros having trouble eating and goign on strike often, but this one seems insatiable.

yea, he's abotu 24" long 6" tall at base of skull and about 2.5-3" wide at base of skull. so far, i think he can eat 4-5 hopper/small mice at a sitting or more if i let him, only gave him to one time and he was still hungry ate a tilapia filet.

just give him a large smelt that will fill his mouth for a couple of minutes and he will be more focused on chewing the smelt then your hands
