This is a video I took of my new baby silver aro eating some krill and my oscar trying to steal it lol.

Nice fish, I was thinking of putting some oscars with a silver aro for the tank I'm saving up for, but I'm worried the oscars will bully or kill the aro.

That's what I was worried about too. Especially because the oscar had been in there pretty much by himself for a while (except for the pleco). So when the oscar was in a hospital tank for 2 weeks I put the arowana in along with some dither fish to distract the oscar and so far it has worked great.

hope your oscar doesn't eat your aro. i currently have my aro w/ some red oscars & jds but i made sure that my aro was bigger so he wouldn't get bullied. so far my aro gets along w/ all his tank mates hope your oscar & aro get along too! keep us updated! cheers & happy fish keeping!

Soon the oscar will figure that he can just eat the aro after the aro eats the krill, that way he gets both.

It is a managable combonation, but to be safe it is recommended that the arowana be at least 10-11" long and 2x the length of the large cichlids such as oscars.
