silver aro compatibility in a 300g tank

Hi Guys,

Looking to transfer the fish in my 5x2x2 into a 8x2.5x 2.5 tank. Current residents include 35cm flagtail, 7 silver sharks ranging from 20cm to 15cm, 2x silver dollars, 15 clown loaches ranging from 19cm to 6cm and a 15 cm sailfin... i know i know don't flame me about the overstocking here... they have been there for 3 years now and i have no problem with water quality or any fish dying.... i just can't help it by keep adding fish, but i have tried my best to off load some fish.. like i did to my oscar when i bought the large flagtail... it was just a deal that i can't give up cos i don't see them that size very often in brisbane....

anyway when i transfer them into the bigger tank... i want to join the aro crew by adding a silver aro for my first step into aro... what size should i buy the aro in? and i also would like to add an pink giant gourami, do you think that is possible? and how should i go about getting them into the tank i.e. the order or it... and any idea what size i should buy my giant gourami in cos i read that they are less agressive when they are large already....

Hey i don't see anything wrong in your idea...so i say go for it =] and for the Silver Arowana size...it depends on how big is your other fishes...i would just get a 4-6" if you can...anyways they will grow fast even though...just feed it normally and give lots of water changes and check up on the water every now and then to see how the environment is doing...that way you can make changes to something was to fluctuate off from where it is suppose to be on

well the silver sharks are 20cm down to 10cm, clown loaches are mostly in teh 15cm mark, 30 cm flagtail, 15cm sailfin pleco... silver dollars are 12cm....

yea...just get a 4-6"er...

what about for giant gourami guys?? will they get along well with the silver aro?? which should i add to the tank first???

Add the aro first unless gourami is going to be very small.
