Hello, ive had a silver aro for a little over a week now and have kept many before. Its about 7-8" tip-to-tip. I have never experienced such difficulty with feeding, i have consistently offered bloodworm blocks, krill sm and lg, live and dead feeder crickets, earthworms, carnivore sticks and hikari medium pellets, feeder goldfish, beefheart, clams, salmon, shrimp, and chicken strips. water parameters are optimal for this fish and it is not bulging in the abdomen or noticeably well-fed. the skittish nature of this particular aro is beyond me...anyone else kept a totally disinterested aro before?

Only a week? It took my black aro a couple of weeks to eat and the big silver I adopted last May took over a month before he would eat on a regular basis.

ive never had an aro turn down food unless it was overly stressed. the aro i have now even bites other fish so that he can steal their food, hes loco:screwy:try placing him by himself for a while if he isnt already and just leave him alone as much as possible. when you put food in, back away from the tank and let him do his own thing, some aros just need time to feel comfortable. just keep offering food untill he finally eats, he will if he gets hungry enough.
