the rock...671!!!
i've seen a couple of tanks that have a combo of frontosas and silver arowanas. so it seems like a possibiality. yet being that the aro is a south american fish requiring slightly acidic water and the frontosa is from africa an requires akilaine conditons (upwards of 8.0Ph right?). would a neutral Ph work? i'm thinking about trying it out, but would like to hear what you all think about it.

A neutral pH will work to maintain both species together. The main drawback is that, the further they're away from high alkaline conditions, fronts become less intense in blue coloring. This defeats the main appeal for this species (IMO).

When I did my research into the silver aro when I was offered one I found that most places indicated a low ph but they are comfortable adjusting to different conditions.

Since a lot of aros are farm bred in Asia, does the pH still affect them as much? I mean, would they be tollerant of say 7.5 instead of 6.5 with no health problems?

i keep my silver at 6.5-6.8ph, and i use peat to soften the water. the front i'm looking at getting is in a tank with 7.5Ph (i asked if i could take a sample as part of my research). but the water is pretty hard. but the front is almost 6in., not sure if that will play a factor...still cautious about trying it, as the front very pricy.

I have a frontosa in my tank and he is doing good I keep my ph @ 6.8-7.0.He still gives good color. He is 6in

the frontosa will be a bit shy but it will work, yes... i've seen a bunch together aswell i looks nice even... still every fish keeper visiting you will say something for shure... ehehe:D
