Silver Aro keep spitting out food

I finally got my Aro to eat a lizard then I said what the heck so I threw in some pellets and FD'd BW and he would eat a few and swallow but then he would eat them and spit them back out and repeat this about 2-3 times then give up, What's wrong with him?

It is just waiting for a better food choice, among other issues. Stop feeding live, just offer the pellets and blood worms. Eventually it will start eating them.
